EyeMDs, or ophthalmologists, are medical doctors specializing in disease and
surgery of the eye. Following medical school and internship, they may focus
their training on a specific area of ophthalmology during a 3-4 year
residency program. After training in general ophthalmology, EyeMDs may enter
a fellowship at an accredited institution for additional training in one of
the following sub-specialties:
